Fermina Ortiz

Mrs. Fermina Gonzales Ortiz, 89, of Waco, passed away Friday morning, February 14, 2003, at a Waco nursing facility.

SERVICES

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Rev. Sergio Lopez as celebrant. Burial will be at Mart Cemetery.

Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m., Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest. The family will be at 3713 Lasker.

Mrs. Ortiz was born July 7, 1913, in Austin, Texas, and was the widow of Rosendo Ortiz. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and care for her family. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church of Waco.

SURVIVORS

Survivors include two sons, Jesse Ortiz and his wife Erminia of Waco, Manuel G. Gamez, Sr. and his wife Belen of Newark, Ca.; a daughter, Janie Suasa and her husband Mike of Waco; a sister, Elvira Gonzales of Abilene, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
