Forest Britton "Bee" Corbell, 81, of Eastland, Texas died Monday morning, April 21, 2008 at his daughter's residence in Waco. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel.
Bee was born October 1, 1926 in Snyder, Texas to Earl and Leona Corbell. In December of 1942 at the age of 16, Bee enlisted in the US Navy and served his country in the Pacific on the USS LaVallette, DD448. He attended Neilson Beauty College in Dallas where he met his wife, Betty Joe Green. They were married in Dallas on August 23, 1946. The couple moved to Odessa to open their own beauty shop. Bee soon gave up the small business and began working on electric high lines. Looking for a living with fewer risks, he joined the Odessa Fire Department where he spent 34 years and retired as Battalion Chief. He and Betty Joe spent the remainder of their lives enjoying their home on Lake Leon, involving themselves in that community and spending time with their family. Bee and Betty Joe were married for 61 wonder-filled loving years.
