Frances Green Fox

Frances Fox passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 while holding the hands of her daughter and son-in-law.
Graveside services will be at Elmwood West Memorial Park in Abilene, TX.
Family visitation will be at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., on Monday June 9, 2008 from 5 to 7 pm.
Frances was born April 3rd, 1916 in Anson, Texas to Maggie and W. H. Green. She was the youngest of 6 children. She lived in Jones County until she met and married James (Jimmy) Fox on January 6, 1938. They lived in Abilene, Texas for many years.
The family attended Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where Frances volunteered faithfully in the children's programs. She was also a long standing member of The Abilene Garden Club as flowers were one of her passions.
She was a loving wife and mother who supported her family in all their activities and celebrated their achievements. People have described her as "a strong lady who carried herself with grace and dignity."
Many have added she was not afraid of hard work and put others needs before her own. In 1961, the family bought a ranch in Lampasas and time was divided between Lampasas and Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers and 2 sisters, four nieces and two nephews. Her husband Jimmy died in 1979 and Frances moved to Hewitt to be near her daughter and her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha (Martie) Sauter and son-in-law, Vern of Waco; granddaughter, Jennifer Sauter Price and her husband, Colonel Vince Price of Arlington, Va., and granddaughter, Amanda Sauter of Austin, Texas.
Her great grand daughters are Grace Anne Price and Delaney Rose Price of Arlington,Va. will miss their great grandmother (GG) whom they adored.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Lake Shore Estates for their concern and care. Much gratitude is felt towards Providence Home Health Care for the caregivers (Joyce, Ella, Connie, Carolyn H., Mary, Carolyn G., Gilda, Mattie and Nancy) who were angels on earth providing tender and compassionate care to Frances.
The family is also grateful to Providence Hospice(nurses Kim and Lia) who were faithful and compassionate in their care for Frances and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Shore Baptist Church food pantry or Central Texas Senior Ministry's Meals On Wheels program.
