Francis Nan Rose

Francis Nan Rose, 93, passed from this life on March 25, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brookside Mausoleum Chapel of Mission Park North, 20900 IH 10 West, San Antonio. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Born to John T. and Vesta White in Keller, TX, Francis Nan was reared in Ft. Worth and graduated from Texas Wesleyan College. Following graduation she taught high school English in Alvarado until she married Paul P. Rose of Ft. Worth in 1941.
A faithful and loving wife, mother, and "Granny," Francis Nan moved with architect husband Paul to San Antonio in 1950 where they began a long life together actively engaging in church and community activities, traveling, and enjoying time with grandchildren.
After Paul died in 1994, Francis Nan moved to Waco, where she lived until her death. In addition to family activities, she enjoyed reading and volunteering for UpWords Ministries in San Antonio and St. Catherine Center in Waco.
An active and generous servant of her Lord, she will be remembered for her sweet, gracious spirit and loving attention to family and friends.
Survivors include son J. T. Rose and wife Sandy of Waco; granddaughters, Melanie Leppa and husband Brian of Houston, Leah Evans and husband Michael of Dallas, and Lynnelle Rose of Grand Prairie; great grandchildren, Madeleine Leppa and Jonathan and Audrey Evans; and nephews, David McMaster of Pflugerville, TX and Keith and Kevin McMaster, both of Shreveport, LA.
The family thanks the staffs of St. Elizabeth Place, Stoney Brook of Hewitt, Providence Home Health Care, and Providence Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Francis Nan as her health declined over the past two years.
