Frankie George Prochaska, 88, of Lorena, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at his residence.
SERVICES
The Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, led by Deacon Rae Carter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Waco, with Fr. Rakshaganathan Selvaraj as celebrant.
Committal service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, with burial at Robstown Memorial Park.
BIOGRAPHY
Frankie was born November 5, 1926 in Taylor to Frank and Barbara (Vasek) Prochaska. After graduating from high school in 1943, he served in the U.S. Army. He was married to Mary Ann Wright on November 20, 1954, and was a farmer.
He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Serra Club, and Men’s Club. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, dancing, and wine making, and did volunteer work with the Waco VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Jerome, George; and sisters, Mary Foyt, Alice Moore, and Francis Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; children, James (Jimmy) and wife, Donna, Elizabeth (Bebe) Young and husband, Gary, and Joseph (Joe); grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Monica, Katie, Jonathan and Callan; and sisters, Sr. Genevieve Prochaska and Henrietta Vrana.
The family extends a special thanks to Effie Hilliard of Visiting Angels and to Providence Hospice for their outstanding care.
