Fred Jones

Fred Lee Jones became absent from the body and present with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at approximately 11:00 p.m. at a local Hospital. Fred was born August 1, 1919, in Jewitt, TX, to the proud parents, John and Abbie (Haynes) Jones, who precedes him in death. Fred knew and loved the Lord.

Fred was united in marriage to Cleo (Thomas) March 10, 1943 and to their union they were blessed with three sons and two daughters, Fred brought into the union one daughter Barbara Ann, who was welcomed in love by Cleo. Fred and Cleo also welcomed into their family her two nieces Dorothy (Moore) Pickens and Arillian (Thomas) Navy. Fred was a loving father to many.

Fred was a very kind-hearted and giving person. Always possessing an entrepreneurial spirit. Fred began his own business in the early 40's as Jones Auto Body and Fender Shop located in south Waco, during that time he was an instructor at a school for auto body and and fender shop in Austin. In 1959 he moved his family to Denver, CO where there he also set up Jones Auto Body. In 1965 he andhis family returned to Waco, where he restarted his business. In 1968 he moved the family to Oakland, CA where his brothers lived and again opened shop. In 1991 Fred and his wife retired and returned to Waco, to enjoy their retirement years.



Preceding Fred in death his loving wife of 66 years, Cleo Jones; children, Fred Jones, Jr., Edward Jones, Sharron Jones Bennett and Barbara Ann Jones Gates; three brothers, Russell Jones, Crowell Jones and Willie Pearle Jones; two sisters, Lora Allen and Lucy Bradley.

Fred leaves to cherish his loving memory; daughter, Wanda Jean Jones Green and husband, George; son, Thomas Jones and wife, Anitha Johnson Jones; grandchildren, Brian, Dwayne Latoya and Tiani Jones , Charles Carlton, Schaan Wilbur, Rhon Green, Tamela Agudo, Antoinette Allen, Tiffany Battle,
Anyuan Davis, Adrian Bennett, Tanya Gates Tiana and Talbert Streets;great-grandchildren,
Christian, Camille, Cameron, Dwayne Jr., De'Yona, Jalen, Legend, Ce'Vante, Alexis, N;dya, Makayla, Khristle, NaKole, Larry, Jr., Christopher, Arial, Elia, Hannah, Wilfredo, Makai, Eric, Austin, Ashton, Kenny, Kendall, Ty, Cameron, Keon, Kacey, Adriana, Isaiah, Sharron, Maximus and Isis; and three special nephews, Ardee, Junior and Willie Pearle Jr. Jones.
