Gail Laubert
January 6, 1937 – November 21, 2005
Gail Lord Laubert, 68, of Waco, passed away Monday, November 21, 2005, in Hillcrest Hospital after bravely struggling with Alzheimer's for the past 10 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 at the St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Liebham as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., followed by visitation for family and friends.
Gail was born January 6, 1937 in Dallas to Doyle and Erma (Melton) Lord. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, and attended two years at Baylor University. She married Lawrence R. Laubert on September 4, 1957 in Dallas. They were members of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco.
Her first love was children, and after raising her own four children, she went on to volunteer with Historic Waco and the Ollie Mae Moen Youth Cultural Center, and taught Sunday School and GED classes at McLennan Community College.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence R. Laubert; daughters, Julie Zakhary and husband, Yost of Woodway, and Laurie Steinke and husband, Max of Waco; sons, Jonathan Laubert and wife, Debbie of St. Louis, Mo., and Macky Laubert and wife, Stephanie of Carlton; brothers, Jack Lord and wife, Ann of Dallas, and Dennis Lord and wife, Sharon of Dallas; grandchildren, Lauren and Emily Zakhary, Thomas and Matthew Steinke, and Kristen and Courtney Hill.
Pallbearers will be Yost Zakhary, Max Steinke, Jerry Brown, Ralph Norvell, Michael Lord, and Donny Lord.
The family thanks Dr. John Kosarek and Dr. Lance Oberg and the staff of Crestview Healthcare Residence for their loving care.
