Gell Richard Kingery
December 6, 1949 - December 31, 2009
Gell R. Kingery, 60, of Robinson, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 at Victorious Life Church with the Rev. Kevin Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 3 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Gell was born December 6, 1949 in Amarillo to Willard Leon Kingery and Juanita Carver Kingery. He graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock where he held the shot put and discus distance record for many years. Gell graduated from Baylor University where he was a member of the Baylor Track Team. He held both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Biology. He was a Certified Lab Technologist at Providence Health Center for several years and later worked for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and at the Veterans Hospital. He then attended Baylor Law School and upon graduation, he began his career as an attorney working for the Federal Court System, began a private practice and was currently a Pro Se Staff Attorney for the United States District Court Western District of Texas located here in Waco. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his many associates and friends.
Gell loved deer hunting on the family farm and genuinely enjoyed the lake and fishing. Gell also love the Lord with all his heart and traveled to Mexico and Brazil on Mission trips. In 1978, he was a founding member of Victorious Life Church and has served as a deacon ever since.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Vickie Carroll.
Gell is survived by his wife, Betty Hollis Kingery of Robinson; three daughters, Jennifer Plemons and husband, Corey of Lubbock, Andrea Martinez and husband, Rudy of Robinson and Jacquilyn Land and husband, Chris of Robinson; grandchildren, Gabrellia Madison Martinez, Cody Austin Kingery Martinez and Brycen James Michael Land all of Robinson; his uncle, Ted Kingery of Silverton; one niece from Lubbock, Amber Rogers of Keller and Cherri Shaw of Dallas; numerous loving cousins including Anthony Kingery and Glen Kingery; and many close friends.
In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorials given in Gell's name to ARC of McLennan County or to Victorious Life Church.
