The sunset of Geneva Jo McGee, 85, of Waco, was Sunday evening, May 15, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Crest Funeral Home, with burial following at Rosemount Cemetery. Chaplain Mona Dunkin and Rev. Dan W. Roberts will officiate. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A Memorial DVD of her life will be shown during the visitation.
The sunrise of Geneva's life was August 3, 1919, in Eula, Texas, to James R. and Freda B. Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Sydney (D.S.) McGee, in November 1999.
Geneva and D.S. lived in Temple after WW II until his death in 1999. She was actively involved in her church, Oak Park United Methodist, and in community service. After several years of marriage, two of the "happiest days of our lives" was the adoption of four-year-old Lynda, and three-day-old Freda.
Geneva is survived by two daughters, Lynda McGee of Waco and Freda K. Warehime of Belton; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
