Genoveva Gonzales, 91, of Waco, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at a local care center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Bob Wehrer officiating. Graveside services will be 9am Wednesday at San Luis Cemetery in Yorktown, Texas. The Rosary will be recited 7pm Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. followed by visitation.
Genoveva was born on January 4, 1919 in Edna, Texas to Mauricio and Margarita (Losana) Hernandez. She was raised around the Edna and San Antonio area. Her father was killed in a rock quarry near San Antonio in 1921. Her mother remarried and she was raised by her aunt Genoveva Garcia and uncle Jose Garcia around the Yorktown area. She married Miguel Falcon Gonzales in Yorktown on April 12, 1934. She bore and raised eight daughters, five sons and a step-daughter with her husband. After her husband died on November 28, 1976 in Cuero, Texas she moved to Waco and resided there until death. She will be so dearly missed and remembered always and forever
Genoveva was preceded in death by her husband Miguel, daughters, Carmen Gonzales, Nicole Trevino, Josephine Reyna and four infant sons.
Genoveva is survived by her daughters; Mary Ochoa of Port LaVaca, Margaret Flores and husband, Gaudalupe, Delfina Monroy and husband, Rutillo, Alice Gonzales, Rose Mary Aguilar and husband Angel, and Rosalinda Perez and husband, Dionicio all of Waco; sons, Jessie Gonzales and wife, Janie of Cuero, Ascension Gonzales, Phillip Gonzales, Ted Gonzales and Robert Gonzales and wife, Cathy all of Waco; 49 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cheffy Reyna, Rutillo Monroy, Dionicio Perez, Angel Aguilar Sr., Angel Aguilar Jr., Fabian Perez and Alexander Aguilar.
