George James Anderson, Sr., 74, of Waco, passed away Saturday evening, March 28, 2004, at his home.
[b]Services[/b]
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with a family visitation to follow. A memorial videotape honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.
[b]Personal Life[/b]
George was born May 24, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, NY to George James and Mary C. (Cunniff) Anderson. He graduated from Gorton High School in Yonkers, and the American Radio and Television Institute in New York City. He served in the Army during WWII as part of the occupation forces in Japan.
He married Barbara Gauthreaux on June 23, 1951, in Yonkers, NY. They moved from Stoney Point, NY, to Waco 32 years ago.
He was a retired Quality Control Supervisor with Marathon Power Technologies. He had many hobbies including woodworking, tinkering, and playing on his computer. He was a volunteer with the Citizens on Patrol, and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
[b]Survivors[/b]
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four children, Carolyn of Pearl River, NY; George Jr. of Webster, William of Bastrop, and Jeanette of Waco, and a child dear to his heart, Jennifer of Waco; two grandchildren, Alicia Teakell and Christa Anderson, and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Tyler, all of McGregor.
