George Michael Yuhas, 75, of Waco, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2005, at the Beacon Hill Baptist Church, 1912 Monte Vista, Waco, with the Rev. Harley Gordon officiating assisted by Rev. Reggie Blake and Rev. Marvin Whittenberg. Burial with military honors will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown.
Michael was born in Woodbridge, NJ, to John and Elizabeth Yuhas. He served in the Army for 12 years, including time in Korea and Germany. He enjoyed cooking, bowling and miniature golf, and was a retired baker and chef. Before his retirement, he was a chef at Lake Waco Country Club. Prior to that he was a draftsman and estimator for Kevin Kenny Construction Company in Waco. He was a very faithful member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Pack Yuhas; daughters, Regina Sue, Debbie, Donna, and Barbara; sons, John and William; and sister, Anna Yuhas Macaluso.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Lillard, Tom Leet, James Hill, John Low, Cecil George, and Renato Lu.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Gray, Bob Diehl, Johnny Coker, Jim Wall, Bill Snyder, Robert Kuykendall, Steve Burley, Kenneth Cook, Joe Bearden, Mickey Cook, Mitch Lewis, and other men at Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
The family especially appreciates the care given by Providence Hospice and Dr. Webster Lowder, Dr. Ofobuike Okani, and Dr. Kent Petty.
