Geraldine R. (Jerry) Kizer, 101, of Waco passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Richard Rust officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 – 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
Jerry was born September 27, 1913 in Wabash, In., to Jerome and Grace (Kendall) King. She married Richard M. Kizer (Lt. Co, ret.) on February 21, 1942 at Ft. Benning, Ga. At age 100, Jerry was proudly elected to the Wabash High School’s Hall of Fame for basketball.
A life-long avid golfer, she began her career playing two golf state tournaments in Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Duane; sister, Irene; and her beloved husband of 64 years, Lt. Col. Richard M. Kizer.
Jerry is survived by great-niece, Judith Blair and husband Jim of Florida, and a great-nephew, Jerry Reed and wife Avanelle of Indiana.
