Gilbert Nevarez Fraga, 72 years old of Waco, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family on March 4, 2019. A visitation was held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at OakCrest Funeral Home where good memories were shared by family and friends. Graveside services are at 11:30 am on Friday March 8, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery.
Gilbert was born in Waco, Texas on December 18, 1946. He attended Waco public schools and became a painter, a profession he practiced for 40 years-plus. Many homes and buildings in Waco reflect the skill and experience of Gilbert’s work and dedication, to name just a few the renovation of the Waco Hippodrome and the Miguel House as well as working on projects at the Dwyer Group.
Gilbert, Mr. Fraga to many, was a man of great faith, strong willed, hardworking and a respected father and grandfather; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vincent, Jr., and Rosenda (Nevarez) Martinez; son, Gilbert Fraga, Jr., and great grandson Sean Mikael Clark; and siblings, Dora Calderon, Manuel Martinez, and Jesse Fraga, Sr.
Gilbert is survived by his loving family; daughters, Amy Munoz and husband Mike, Monica Arechiga and husband Justin; and son, Michael Fraga; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Ramos and husband Roy, and brothers; Ernesto Fraga and wife Linda, and Vincent Martinez III and wife Margie. And many friends.
