Gilbert Sauseda

Gilbert Celestino Sauseda Sr., 70, passed away on October 22, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Maricela Sauseda of 49 years.

He was born in Moody, Texas in May of 1951. He was the son of Jose and Celestina Pena Sauseda. He attended Moody ISD for a short period of time before moving on with his early career as a HVAC Technician. He was employed at numerous HVAC companies throughout his time/career and owned his own roofing company at one point and time.

Gilbert was a stubborn but very hard-working man, who did not take time off work for himself. He would always put other people’s needs before himself often causing him to work long hours throughout the year and holidays. He was the type of man who would give his last dollar out of his wallet to make sure you were taken care of and would never take no for an answer.

He enjoyed and loved playing pool, bowling, dancing, fishing, watching, and talking about his Dallas Cowboys with his grandkids and betting on his Super Bowl squares. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his facetious remarks and jokester ways. His constant arguing with his daughter about their favorite football teams. His late-night shenanigans with his grandkids and slamming of the front door when he got home. Listening to different types of music and doing his Gritos calls with his daughters during family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife, Maricela Sauseda, of Hewitt; son, Gilbert Sauseda Jr., of Belton; three grandchildren, Brandon Campos, Ryan Sauseda, and Nichloas Sauseda; son, Gabriel Sauseda and wife, Margaret, of Houston; daughter, Ruby Artegea and husband, Phillip, of Robinson; two grandchildren, Christopher Ragsdale Jr., and Cody Ragsdale; daughter, Erma Daly and husband, Alan, of Hewitt; two grandchildren, AJ Daly and Aubrey Daly; son, Joe Angel Sauseda and wife, Kimberly, of Hewitt; two grandchildren, Jaxon Sauseda, and Cohen Sauseda; living brother, Raymond Sauseda Sr.

He is predeceased by his father, Jose Sauseda and mother, Celestina Pena Sauseda; sister, San Juanita (Janie) Sauseda Palacio; sister, Josephine Sauseda Lopez, brother, Frankie Sauseda Sr.; brother, Marshall (Marcelino) Sauseda.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Christopher Ragsdale, Jr., Cody Ragsdale, Alan Daly, Jr., Aubrey Daly, Ryan Sauseda, Nicholas Sauseda, and Brandon Campos.
