Grace Evalyn Pundt, age 79 of China Spring, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006 at a local hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the OakCrest Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Copeland officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetary.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 ? 8 p.m. on Monday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Mrs. Pundt, the youngest of six children, was born October 25, 1927, in Ripley, Mississippi, to Covus and Evalena Anderson. She attended China Spring School and graduated from Waco High School. In 1945, she married William (Bill) M. Pundt of China Spring.
Grace loved God and was a devoted lifelong Baptist. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring and enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Grace touched the lives of many people. One of the greatest pleasures in her life was writing letters to her friends and family across the country. She also enjoyed working on genealogy, cooking for her family and being a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Brewer Anderson, and two sisters, Jewel Davis and Crystal Gray.
Grace is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Pundt of China Spring; son, Steve Pundt and wife, Estela of Duncanville; daughter, Carolyn K. Duffer; and son, Bruce Pundt of China Spring; grandchildren, Steve E. Pundt, Jeff Duffer, and Brian Duffer and wife Selena; great-grandchild, Jessica Duffer; sisters, Opal and husband, the Rev. A. L. Davis, and Mabel Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeff and Brian Duffer and nephews: Dr. Wayne Pundt, Sharif Sidarous and Ron and Craig Pundt.
