Greg McCulloch, 60, of Waco, passed away on March 8 at Hillcrest Hospital. His battle with tongue
cancer had come to an end. Services will be at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., on Tuesday,
March 14, with Pastor Lloyd Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00, services at 11:00 and
graveside at 1:30.
Greg was born on May 9, 1961. He graduated from Midway High School. After graduation, he attended
TSTC and got his associates in electronics and vending Machines. He then went on to discover that he
loved the medical field. He was then employed at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas for a few years.
During that time, he learned biomedical engineering and come to realize that was his passion, aside
from being with the kids at the hospital. He then went on to be the owner of his own biomed business
for some years before moving to Houston. After a few years, he ended back up in Waco.
In 1992, he had the experience of becoming a father while being married to former wife, Roxie. He had
a baby boy who he named Gregory Brent McCulloch II. Greg also had a nephew, Shane Walker, whom
he loved dearly. Shane was like his other son.
It is nice to know that, although Greg didn’t always practice what he knew as a Christian, he really
became close to God on the end of his journey. He got baptized on the previous Sunday before his
death and made a comment at baptism, "I know my Savior and that’s where I’m going". It’s nice for those
of us who knew him at a time when he wasn’t that close to God, see him come front and center with the
almighty at the end of his journey.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Anna Marie Bowen from Odessa and adoptive parents, Lewis
and LaDene McCulloch.
Greg is survived by his beloved son, Brent McCulloch and his fiancé, Samantha Bennight; sister,
Nancy and husband, Carl Linde; nephew, Shane Walker and wife, Jamie; two grandchildren, Mira and
John Luke Walker.
Greg will be dearly missed by those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider following the link
