Guadalupe Lucio Longoria, 48, of Waco, passed away Sunday night, May 2, 2004, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mighty Wind Worship Center with Pastor Joe Carbajal officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A video of her life will be shown.
She was born March 24, 1956, in Taylor to Marcelino and Patricia (Gomez) Lucio. She married Lupe Castillo Longoria on April 21, 1979. She was a member of Mighty Wind Worship Center.
Guadalupe was a special person who courageously fought cancer for four years, always with a positive attitude.
She loved her family and her church, and was especially devoted to her Lord. She enjoyed sewing and had a green thumb, always keeping her home full of beautiful plants. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elvira; daughter, Ivey Lynn; and granddaughter, Erica.
She leaves her husband, Lupe Longoria; three sons, Dionel Ruiz, Nicholas Longoria, and Guadalupe Longoria Jr.; three daughters, Michelle Ruiz and husband Joe Galvan, Alicia Mendez and husband Moses, and Angela Longoria, all of Waco; two brothers, Marcelino Lucio and wife Eva, and Horacio Lucio, both of Thrall; five sisters, Nancy Botello and husband Marshall of Round Rock, Connie Stojanik and husband Robert of Thrall, Silvia Rodriguez and husband Sonny of Waco, Yolando Leshikar and husband Willie of Taylor, and Janie Kruse and husband Roland of Taylor; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
