H. Wallace Wright, 82, died on Friday, June 8, 2012, with his family and friends at his side in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11 at Oak Crest Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Brittian officiating. He will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Waco, Texas.

Wallace was born in Levelland, Texas to Henry William Wright and Ethel Mae Nichols Wright. After graduating from Baylor University, Wallace studied painting in Chicago. Wallace showed his paintings throughout the United States. After returning to Texas, he embarked on multiple career paths including art, residential construction, and meat packing. Wallace built numerous apartment complexes in Waco, Texas. He was the founder and co-owner of Waco Beef & Pork Processors.

Throughout his life, Wallace served his community. He served in the National Guard, coached youth soccer for St. Paul's Episcopal Day School, started the first Boy Scout troop for handicap children, and served as President of the Heart of Texas Apartment Association. Wallace has been an active member of Central Methodist Church and a member of the Galileans Sunday School Club.

Wallace married Sara Don Cocke, of Waco, Texas.

Preceding Wallace in death were his parents, his sister Vaughn Dane Mayfield, and his step-sons Carl and Andy.

Wallace is survived by his wife, Sara; his daughter, Sara Don Landsfeld and husband, Mike; sons, Walter Trautschold and Henry William Wright and wife, Lenore; grandson, Henry Wallace Wright; granddaughter, Sara Abigail Jones; great-grandson Maximus Jones; nieces Karen Mayfield, Teri Muse, and Sandra Waits; and nephew, Mike Mayfield.

Pallbearers will be Bill Marshall, Drew Haluska, Elton Woolsey, Carl Womack, Sr., and Carl Womack, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Green, Clarence Dierking, Farrar Keetch, James Atchley, T.R. Taylor, and Robert Alison.
