Harm Wesley LaRue, 81 of Waco passed away on Thursday August 31, 2006. Services will be 2 pm Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Dr. Manning Garrett officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will start at 12 pm on Saturday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Wes was born on July 2, 1925 in Quitman to James Samuel and Etta Mae (Bagby) LaRue. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Doyen in the South Pacific during WWII. Wes married the love of his life, Jean Irvine on September 12, 1945 in Long Beach, California. Wes enjoyed assisting and serving others in need. Ins his retirement he spent years traveling in his RV around the country and visiting family. He spent the last 10 years of his life working on Watkins Ranch in McGregor. Wes was a Rancher and a Diesel Mechanic and a Peter Built Dealer. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ray LaRue, two sisters and three brothers.
Wes is survived by his wife Jean of Waco; sons, Harmon J. LaRue and wife Barbara of Vancouver, BC; and Evan G. LaRue and wife Darlene of Waco; daughters, Etta Jean LaRue Davis and husband Garry of Las Vegas, Nevada and Waime Lee LaRue Garrett and husband Manning of Jackson, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Blake and Zackery LaRue, Michael and Mathew Garrett and Tom Davis.
