Helen Davis

Helen L. Davis, 90, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Regent Care of Woodway. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Waco Memorial Park with Pat Richardson officiating. Visitation with her family will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Helen was born April 24, 1922 in McGregor to Hardy and Olga Bartels. She married Ray Davis, the love of her life, in May 1939. Helen was a bright spot in everyone’s life and never left anyone without a smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Davis; her son, Alton Davis, two sisters, Marie and Ruby; and one brother, Clarence.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Delores Mellnick and husband, Jack of Lewisville; three granddaughters, Pam Sivils and husband, Tom of Robinson, Connie Hammer of Mount Calm and Jannette Bonner and family of Longview; one grandson, Gerry Davis and family of Shreveport; two sisters, Clara William and Virgie January; one brother, Clifford Bartels; five great grandchildren, Tommy, Amber, Jeffrey, Jeremy and Andrew; and one great great granddaughter, Autumn.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Regent Care and Odyssey Hospice for their love and care.
