Helen Gaylor

Helen Hicks Gaylor, 102, of Waco, Texas left this life to be with Jesus Wednesday, January 3, 2017. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Chilton Cemetery, Chilton, Texas with Rev. Carroll Hambrick, officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, January 5, 2018, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

This lovely lady was born in Chilton, Texas to Hunter Primrose Hicks and Ola Victoria Adams Hicks on May 17, 1915. She graduated from Chilton High School in 1932. She married Vernon Lee Gaylor on September 19, 1932.

To this union were born seven children: LeGene, Keith, Louise, Arlan, Elois, Judy and Don.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, H. P. Hicks and Olan Hicks, one sister, Leatris Johnson: sons, LeGene and Arlan: grandsons, Wayne Hughes, Dale Hughes, and Tony Grimm.

Helen is survived by her son, Keith and wife JoAnn, daughters, Louise Hughes and husband Jerry, Elois Moncus and Louis, Judy Grimm and husband Eldon; son, Don, and wife Sylvia.

She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff on the third floor at St. Catherines, and Dr. John Kosarek for their compassionate care.
