Helen B. Jones, 86, of Waco, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Don Wilkins officiating. A private burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Helen was born on June 7, 1926 in Marlin to William E. and Emma G. Kuretsch. She married Robert L. Jones on December 14, 1944. They were married for 68 years before he passed August 8, 2011. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Cogdell United Methodist Church. She will be missed by all her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who called her Nanny.
Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Arnold as well as two sisters, Elizabeth and Edna.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Helen Carswell of San Antonio, Wanda J. Gilliam and husband,Richard of Hillsboro; two sisters, Gladys Mims of Waco, and Ruth Dyess; three grandchildren, Randy Carswell of San Antonio, Lindsey Wells of Arlington, Shelby Gilliam of Hillsboro; and five great grandchildren, Riley, Austin, Mackenzie, and Jackson Carswell, all of San Antonio, and Ashleigh Wells of Arlington.
