Helmer Victor Carlson, Jr., 72, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Old Rock Church in Cranfills Gap, Texas, with Chaplain Larry Holden officiating, with burial to follow in Old Rock Church Cemetery.
Mr. Carlson was born in Meridian, Texas on April 11, 1944, to Helmer Victor and Lula Evelyn(Pittman) Carlson. Helmer was employed for over 25 years in the petroleum industry as a pipeline supervisor, after retiring, he became an entrepreneur. While working in New Mexico, he met and married Patricia Lynne Newman. He enjoyed music and being with family and friends. A good and understanding man.
Helmer is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Patricia Lynne, daughters; Shelli Scherwitz and husband J. D. of Waco, Texas, Stephanie Callison and husband Laramie of De Leon, Texas; sons, John Carlson and wife Melanie of San Angelo, Texas and James Carlson of De Leon, Texas; grandchildren, Patrick Scherwitz, Lander Callison, Hayden Carlson, Makenna Callison, Hallee Carlson and Emily Carlson; Sister, Patsy Finner.
