Henry Hromadka, 85, of Waco, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at a local care center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 24 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Liebham as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. followed by visitation with the family.
Henry was born February 7, 1920 in West to Mr. and Mrs. John Hromadka. He joined the Air Force during World War II and retired 20 years later as a master sergeant. Afterwards, he worked at the Veterans Administration office in Waco until he retired in 1982.
He married the former Dorothy Atkinson in Chester, England on September 5, 1945 and they were married 58 years before her death in 2002. They enjoyed ballroom dancing and received many compliments for their graceful moves on the dance floor. They are dancing in Heaven now. Henry was a wonderful and caring husband and father, and was our saint.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hromadka of Waco; two sons, John Hromadka of Monterey, Mexico, and Steve Hromadka and wife, Maria of Miami; a grandson, Jason Hromadka and wife, Krystal of San Diego, California, and a great-grandson, Aiden.
