Hiram Bennett

Hiram Elliott Bennett, 97 of Waco passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be at 11 am Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. A reception with the family will follow at the church Chapel. Mr. Bennett was born November 30, 1908 in the Crawford area to Mr. and Mrs. John F. Bennett. He attended Baylor University. He worked for Humble Oil Refinery Company for 34 years.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 92 for 55 years, and was a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite and the Shrine.
He was a past chairman of the Board of Stewarts of Cogdell United Methodist Church, and served as a greeter for 25 years at First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Pamela Crow and husband, Cecil, and Patsy Watson and husband, Ed of Portales, NM; grandson, Bennett Crow and wife Tami ; sister, Frances Caufield; sister-in-law, Doris Bennett, and several nieces and nephews.
