H. J. McKelroy, 78, of China Spring, went home to be with his Lord September 14, 2011. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Bellmead Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald McKelroy officiating. Visitation with his family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mac was born February 14, 1933, the youngest child of Charlie D. and Bertie McKelroy of Falls Country, Texas. After his military service in the Army, he moved to Waco and married his lifelong sweetheart, Bettie Ray Butler, November 6, 1954. Mac owned and operated several businesses in Waco over the last 50 years including, Mac's Cabinet Shop, Mac's Furniture Store, Mac's Heating and Air and Mac's Self-Storage. Mac also showed horses, Longhorn and Limousine Cattle. Mac and Bettie have lived in the China Spring area for the last 45 years.
Mac was a member of Bellmead Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Joe McKelroy of China Spring.
Mac is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bettie Ray; son, Gerald W. McKelroy of Waco; daughter, Donna Sue Wilson of China Spring; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lee Butler, Virgil Cunningham, John McNamara, Joey Crenshaw, Jerry Weaver & Billy Wood.
