Hope Alquinzon Partida, 75, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Frank Alvarado will officiate, and Dr. Charles Stern will deliver the eulogy.
Entombment will follow in the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with visitation for family and friends to follow. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
She was born Hope Rosales Alquinzon in Waco on February 28, 1930 to Lena Rosales Alquinzon and George Alquinzon and attended Waco schools.
She worked as a tailor at Shellenberger's Mens Wear, David's Big and Tall, and more recently R.E. Cox.
She also worked at several other businesses until she retired in 1992.
After a long battle with numerous illnesses that caused her death, she is now with the Lord in heaven. She was a wonderful wife, parent, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Hope is survived by:
her loving husband of 51 years, Samuel Arellano Partida;
son, Eddie Treadaway;
daughters, Benira Sutphin and Caroline Lee Haines;
eight grandchildren, Kristina, Samuel III, Christopher, Michelle, Samantha, Jamie, Chase, and Felicia;
two great-grandchildren, Megan and Hunter,
as well as other numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Stern, Mike Hassell, Samuel Partida, Jr., Mark Garza, Chase Sutphin, and Omar Samuel Ocampo.
The family appreciates the love and care given to Hope by the physicians and nurses of Scott & White Hospital and personnel of Scott & White Hospice during the time of her illness.
