Horace Talley
Jim Talley, 71 of Waco passed way at a local hospital Wednesday, November 9, 2005. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Holland and Rev. Drew Wilson will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation for friends and family will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.
Jim was born on November 6, 1934 in Dallas to Horace Clayton and Lillie (Pack) Talley. He married Ann Catherine Daniel on August 6, 1953.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served his country for 20 years. He retired in 1972 and went to work for Hillcrest Baptist hospital as their purchasing agent for over 20 years and retired in 1997.
His survivors include his wife Ann of 52 years, his three children, Leslie J. Talley and his wife Rebecca of Sacramento, CA. Cheryl A. Pina and her husband Tom R. Pina Sr. of Waco and David L. Talley Sr. and his wife Sandra of Schertz; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Smith of Waco and Norma Jean Aga of Big Sandy; his grandchildren, Capt. Tom R. Pina Jr. and his wife Kristina, Kristy Williams and her husband Joshua, Steven Strowger, Michael Stowger, Staci Strowger, Joshua Strowger, David Talley Jr., Nicholas Talley and great granddaughter Isabel Pina.
The family would like to thank Dr. B Chang and the staff on 7B at Hillcrest Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.
