Hortense Gayton Furniss
January 29, 1927 to June 28, 2008
Our precious mother, Hortense Gayton Furniss, 81, made her journey home Saturday, June 28, 2008.
Visitation and service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Mighty Wind Worship Center, 1100 Washington Ave.
Celebration service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Mighty Wind Worship Center, 1100 Washington Ave. Minister Robert Gutierrez will officiate all services.
Hortense will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Mr. Alfred E. Furniss "Pop Pop", at Waco Memorial Park.
Mrs. Furniss was born Jan. 29, 1927, to Sam and Cleotilde Gayton, whom have both preceded her in death. Hortense leaves a legacy of faith that has and will continue to be passed down from generation to generation.
Survivors include five sons, Rueben Gonzales Jr. and wife, Laura of Waco, Rudy Gonzales of Waco, Robert Gonzales Sr. and wife, Lupe of Hewitt, Richard Meza Jr. and wife, Misti of China Springs, and Paul Meza and wife, Cynthia of Fort Worth; four daughters, Patricia Gutierrez and husband, Jesse of Moody, Mary Carbajal and husband, Joe of Waco, Virginia Rodriguez of Waco, and Mary Gonzales of Gholsen; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a life-long friend Minnie Morrison of Anson, Texas.
