Inez Hargrove, 94, of Waco, better known as "Granny" to those who loved her, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the Texan Nursing and Rehab of Waco.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Dr. Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.


Granny lived most of her life in Temple where she worked 40 years as a billing clerk for the City of Temple Water Department. She was a kind, humble person who loved everyone, and gladly did anything for anyone who needed help.

She was our special angel who cherished her family, always cooking, sewing, and caring for us. She also loved her church family at Memorial Baptist Church in Temple, and unselfishly dedicated her time endlessly cooking for church events, singing in the choir, and attending faithfully. Everywhere she went, her warm smile and sweet, caring disposition would light up the room.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. "Woodrow" Hargrove; son, Ken Michael Hargrove; and three brothers, Vernon McElhaney, Harry McElhaney, and Houston McElhaney.

Granny will be dearly missed by her three grandchildren, LeAnne Territo and husband, Robert Jr., of League City, Gena Hargrove of Lexington, and Ken Michael Hargrove, Jr. and wife, Mary of League City; and great-grandchildren, Robert Paul Territo III, Vincent Salvatore Territo, and his wife, Sarah, Christina Lee Carlin, Darren Lee (DJ) Carlin Jr., and Robin LeAnne Satterfield.

The family appreciates the loving care provided by the Texan Nursing and Rehab, Bluebonnet Hospice, and especially Francis Harrison.
