On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, Our Heavenly Father sent one of his Angels for Jack N. Cobb. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with the Father Thomas as celebrant. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., by Deacon Jim Fitzpatrick.
Jack was a lifetime resident of Waco and graduated in 1954 from Waco High School. He worked for Baylor University in the Baylor Printing Department from September 1959 until his retirement in 1994. He then worked part-time for the Martin Museum of Art at Baylor as a Gallery Attendant until his death. He made many friends while working at Baylor and will be greatly missed. Jack was much loved by his friends at University Rentals where he lived and worked for 30 years. As the caretaker of the University Rentals' commercial laundry room, Jack made sure all machines and especially the customers were well taken care of. Jack also served his church by greeting parishioners at Mass and being the Students' Assistant in Religious Education. Jack was a sweet, kind-spirited man and his unselfish commitment to his friends or one of his many jobs will be lovingly missed.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William Bill Cobb and Florene Girard Cobb.
He is survived by several cousins and many, many friends.
Pallbearers will be Tony Rodriguez, Patrick Rodriguez, Paul McCoy, John Bayer, Phil Bukowski, and Newt Smith.
A very special thank you to Karen and Kayla of Hillcrest MICU for their excellent care and concern for Jack.
Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's, 1401 Washington Avenue, Waco, TX. 76701
