Mr. Jack Murphey , age 60, of Waco, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at his residence.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Billy Tweety officiating.
Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hardman, 2615 Mountain View Drive, Waco.
LIFE STORY
Jack was born June 22, 1951, in Tyler, Texas, to Robert Elton Murphey and Virginia Hullum Murphey.
He was married to Grace Surface on October 1, 1983, in Dallas. Jack followed his father in sales at Watson Electric Co. in Waco with showrooms in Dallas. He later worked in lighting manufacturing and commercial sales.
In 1994, he entered the insurance business with his wife, retiring in 2005.
Jack was active in the Education for Ministry program at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Historic Waco Foundation. Jack was a member of the Collections Committee for East Terrace, Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue, and Ridgewood Country Club.
Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family. He was a multi-talented man who loved cooking for his family and enjoyed music and art.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Murphey.
HIS FAMILY
Jack leaves his wife, Grace Murphey; daughter, Michelle Benoski and her husband, Michael of Houston; grandchildren, Nathan and Abigail, both of Houston; sister, Rebecca Ann Clukey of Allen, her son, Blake Clukey; and father, Robert E. Murphey.
