James Lee Butler
July 23, 1929 – October 7, 2012
James Lee Butler, 83, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Bellmead, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Hospital. Services will be 10 am Wednesday, Oct. 10, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Pastor Lester Adams officiating.
Burial will follow at Waco Memorial park. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Oct. 9, from 5 – 7 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Lee was born in Groesbeck, to Irvin and Lela Mae (Ferguson) Butler. He married his La Vega high school sweetheart Mary E. Bond on Dec. 24 1948 and was a salesman at Oak Farms Dairy for 30 yrs. Lee was a member of Concord Baptist Church of Bellmead. He and Mary were married 63 years, and had a good time taking many trips together in the RV with his sister and brother in-law. James was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed going to Bossier City.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Lela Mae (Ferguson) Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary E. (Bond) Butler; son, John Butler of Waco; daughters, Joyce Hilliard, Evelyn Odle and husband, Jerry of Chalk Bluff, Peggy Stuckly and husband, Elton of Ross; sister, Clarice Tyler of Tyler; grandchildren, Deanna Wills, Jerod Corley, Eric and Enri Alejo, Michael and Chip Sheard, Jason and Jennifer Butler, Elaine Richard, Delton Stuckly; great grandchildren, Erica, Kyle, Brianna, Christopher, Courtney, Keagan, Kylar, Gracie, Kamryn, Ethan, Terra, Anthony, Madison, Savanna, Caleb, Luke, Alayna, April, Emily, Skylar; and great-great-grandchildren, Cash, Carter, and Annalei.
