James (Jake) Patrick Donahew Jr., age 84, passed away Friday in a local hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Elm Mott United Methodist Church with the Rev. Helen Brock and the Rev. Daryl Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Friends may come by the OakCrest Funeral Home between 12 noon and 8 p.m. Sunday for viewing and to sign the register.

Jake was born in Irene, Texas to James Patrick Donahew Sr. and Kara Langford Donahew. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Jake married Mary Sleeper in Hewitt, Texas April 14, 1944.

He was a longtime member of Elm Mott United Methodist Church. Jake was a home builder and cabinet maker.

Jake is survived by his wife Mary of Elm Mott; daughters Marianne Donahew of Hillsboro, Diane Gray and husband Gary of Waco; brother Bob Donhew and wife Audrey of Elm Mott; grandchildren Traci Howard, Captain Bryan Gray, Steven Gray , AFC Garrett Gray; great grandchildren Jordan Howard and Elizabeth Gray.
