James Lyle Jones, age 66, passed away on February 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 5,2025 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in McMahan, Texas with burial to follow at Jeffery Cemetery.
He was born to George and Viola (Williams) Jones on March 29, 1958. James attended Lockhart High School and graduated in 1976. He went on to attend Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas majoring in Agriculture. James was the first to graduate college in his family.
James was indeed a family man and truly lived every moment for them. He was also a huge Dallas Cowboys Fan.
Regardless of the diagnosis of muscular dystrophy, James lived an incredible life. He held the same government job for 37 years and traveled throughout his career and personal life with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola, and his sister, Annette Jones.
James is survived by his wife of 16 years, Stacey Jones (Leared); brothers, Gary Jones and Tim Jones; nephew, Jeff Jones; children, Denisse Morris (Tiffany), Courtney Jones, Ashley Jones (Alex Solis), Christa Jones (Connor Sullivan) Jim Parker (Susan), Kayla Stuart (Ben), and Samantha Sutton (Brandon); and grandchildren, Ethan Bell, Riley Mills, Sky Jordan, Hadley Stuart, Adalyn Magone, Quinnlyn Sutton, Sawyer Sutton, Murphey Sutton, and Maxtyn Stuart.
