James P. Moore
August 23, 1950 - February 3, 2015
James Pearson Moore, 64, moved into the arms of Jesus on February 3, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer. Jim’s life celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 8, 2015 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Jim was born to Charles Lee and Geraldine Moore on August 23, 1950 and was welcomed home by his big brother Gary Lee Moore. As a youth, he participated in competitive swimming with the Waco Flying Dolphins. He attended Waco public schools and was a graduate of Richfield High School with the class of 1968. After serving two years in the United States Army, he returned home to Waco where he met and married the love of his life, Linda Sue Huskey. They were married for 41 years this August. He raised two beautiful daughters, Kenna Crow who shared his love of music and Parker Graham whose love of Jesus inspired him to rededicate his life and was baptized at his home church Antioch. Jim worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, in Waco, Texas for 37 years. He loved his Post Office family and patrons. He was a devout Texas Longhorn fan and shared his love of sports with his brother, father and nephews. He was an avid fisherman and loved to “chase the whites” to Eichelberger Crossing with his brother in law Donny and many fishing buddies. He spent many afternoons fishing Hillandale Lake with his dear son in law Bennett Crow and his beloved grandson, Eli. Jim cherished his life long friendships with Larry Clifton, Bill Steakly and David Railsback. He enjoyed jamming in his man cave with the Postman Band led by Darrin Crye.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lee Moore.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda Sue; eldest daughter, Kenna Crow and husband, Bennett Crow their two children, Pearson and Eli and Bennett’s mother Pamela Crow, his youngest daughter, Parker; mother, Geraldine Moore; brother, Gary and wife, Deborah their sons Gary Jr. his wife Rachel, Bryan and Megan; mother in-law Marie Parker; brother in-law, Don Parker and wife, Sherri; nieces, Jennifer and Brooksie; sister in-law, Diane Folmer; niece, Ashley McLain and family; and nephew James Graham and family.
