Janet Dietz

Janet was born in Abbeyville, LA to Joe and Olita Bertrand. Janet married Jerry on April 28, 1984 and lived in Beaumont until 2018 when they moved to Bruceville.

She was a wonderful and graceful dancer - especially to Cajun music. She enjoyed singing with her God-given voice that He appreciated! She will be remembered most for her love of family, deep faith and special devotion to Our Lady. She was a master seamstress and an excellent cook...later in life. She and Jerry were avid travelers and enjoyed hitting the road in their camper (Beauty) pulled by their truck (The Beast). She was a generous giver of her time, talents and money including volunteer work with various organizations. She was member of St. Jerome Catholic Church since 2018.

Janet is survived by husband of 40+ years, Jerry Dietz of New Ulm, MN; brother, Gary Bertrand of Nederland; and aunt, Barbara Lopez of Jacksonville, FL. They have 6 children: Stephanie and husband, Tim Dietz of Marlin; Linda Eads of Dripping Springs; Carrie and husband, Doug Smith of Leander; Michelle Walters of Jacksonville, FL; Matthew and wife, Jennifer Walters of Sugar Land, TX; and Melanie and husband, Brian Macias of League City, TX. Also 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe (“Papa Joe”) and Olita Bertrand of Beaumont, TX and brothers, Gerald (“Buddy”) Bertrand of Port Acres, TX and Robert (“Bobby”) Bertrand of Beaumont.
