Janie Cagle Calvert

Janie Cagle Calvert, 96, of Lorena, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Ft. Worth, TX to Russel and Ruby Freeman. She married Clark Calvert in 1946. They spent their married life in Dallas where he was a Methodist pastor. They had three sons, Robert, Scott and Dick. They moved to Lorena in 1984. She married Deward Cagle in 2001. He had four children.
Janie loved her church and friends. She was a member of Lorena Methodist Church, Baylor Senior Choir, Women’s Club, Garden Club and 4-F Club. She loved her music and was also a member of Waco Euterpean Music Club.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Calvert, and husband, Deward Cagle; parents, Russel and Ruby Freeman and sons, Robert Calvert, Scott Calvert and Dick Calvert.
Survivors include grandchildren, Patrice Lewis, Don and Windy Calvert, Jeff and Carol Calvert and families. Deward’s children, Jeanette and Charles Stone. Steve and Mary Cagle, Tim and Glenda Cagle, Jim and Martha Halverson and families.

Janie is a huge part of every memory her family and friends hold and will be missed by all. Pallbearers will be Curtis Poteet, Billy Campbell, Jeff Ferderer, Hank North, Lee Pennington, and Tom Scott.
