Janie Maines, 85, of Golinda, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, in a local care center.
Mrs. Maines was born February 10, 1932 to William Frank and Ammie Mae May. She was a graduate of Riesel High School. Mrs. Maines married Willard Maines on August 24, 1950 in Riesel, TX. She was an active member of the Marlin Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. Mrs. Maines enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and entertaining for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Mrs. Maines is survived by two daughters, Shelly Glass of Golinda, and Linda Shepard of Manvel; son, Mark Maines and wife, Sarah, of Perry; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and George Busby of Riesel; eight grandchildren, Erica Bennett, Kelsey Hernandez, Ashlie Smith, Ryan Maines, Amber Maines, Roger Trevino, Steve Trevino, and Oscar Trevino; 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank The Atrium of Bellmead and Bluebonnet Hospice for their excellent care.
