Janie V. Tovar, 77, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 at an Arlington hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Solar as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by visitation with the family.
Friends may come by OakCrest Funeral Home between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday to pay their respects and sign the register.
Janie was born Sept. 19, 1930 in Elm Mott to Jesus and Santos (Longoria) Villanueva. She married Bill Celestino Tovar, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family.
She leaves her sons, Jesse Tovar and wife, Irene of Grand Prairie, and Randy Tovar and wife, Anna of Waco; grandsons, Adam S. Tovar of Grand Prairie and Randy Tovar Jr. of Waco; granddaughters, Chelsea L. Tovar of Waco and Mia J. Tovar of Grand Prairie; and her sisters, Trinity, Maria and Nella Villanueva, all of Grand Prairie, and Ophelia Lopez and husband, Louis of Plano.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lusciano.
