Janie Waldrop

Janie Waldrop, 85, of Waco, passed away October 10, 2008 at Providence Health Center.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown prior to the service.

Mrs. Waldrop was born June 24, 1923 in Dot, Texas to James Leonard and Lena Belle Taylor. She was the second of four wonderful sisters. She moved to Waco at an early age and attended South Junior High and Waco High School.

She married Craven Meier on June 1, 1941 and they had two children, Susie Meier Branch and Gary Craven Meier. In 1974, she married Tom Collie Waldrop, Jr. who precedes her in death.

Mrs. Waldrop was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years, Craven Meier and her son, Gary.

Mrs. Waldrop is survived by her daughter, Susie Meier Branch of Waco; four grandsons, Kelly Craven Clark, Brian Ray Clark, Brett Taylor Clark and Todd Rustin Meier along with their wonderful wives; 7 beautiful great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
