JB Banks, 73, of Waco, died at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home with burial at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.

He was born in Mt. Vernon, the son of Charlie and Retha Banks. He grew up and attended school in both Mt. Vernon and Mt. Pleasant. He was in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Hercules in McGregor after 39 years. He attended Western Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Stevens, both parents, and two sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Derettia (Rusty) Banks; two daughters, Cathy L. Stewart and husband, Gary of China Spring, Shannon Nunez of Waco; son, Curtis Banks and wife, Mary Jo of Valley Mills; step-sons, Walter Chastain and wife Sharon, Barry Felkner; step-daughter, Dana Krueger; brother and friend, Charles Banks and wife, Edna of Brownwood; brother-in-law, E.R. Watson of Bellmead; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospital.
