Clara “Jean” Cummings, age 91, of Waco, TX passed away on June, 3, 2022. At her request, she will be cremated.
She had been a resident of Stilwell Retirement Center since 2017. She knew herself to be a precious child of God, not perfect, but forgiving and loved. In that context she lived her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, musician and friend. She was a long-time member of Brookview United Methodist Church. While there she served as a church organist. After Brookview closed, she went to Cogdell United Methodist Church as an organist and later became Director of Christian Education. She served there for 39 years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Rev. Floyd and wife, Mary Thrash; her husband, Charles; three sons, Alan, Steve and Thomas.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Diana Stekelenburg and husband, John; sister, Judy Clayton and husband, G.L.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
A celebration of life will be at 1:00 P.M, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Cogdell United Methodist Church in Waco, TX.
