Jean Juniac Stevens, 91, of Waco, died January 11, 2013. A memorial service to honor her life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Oakcest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard. A private burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born May 4, 1921 in Toronto, Canada. Jean graduated from Cottey College in 1941 the same year she married the late Marshall Schofield Stevens of Skokie, Illinois.
Jean was an active member of The Log Cabin Methodist Church of Skokie and a 65 year member of PEO Sisterhood serving as President of three Chapters. Jean was President of East Prairie PTA and active in important roles in the Magazine Publishing Business with Stevens Publishing and Allstate/ Chicago Magazine.
She and Marshall loved their many Golden Retriever Dogs and riding their Tennessee Walking Horses and served on many groups related to both during 50 happy years in Skokie.
She and Marshall moved to Waco and Lake Shore Estates in 2003 and was a resident at Stoneybrook Assisted Living Center of Hewitt at the time of her death.
Jean is survived by two children, Craig Schofield Stevens of Canyon and Martha Claire Reynolds of Woodway; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
