Our dear son, brother, husband, uncle, dad, and friend, Jefferson Davis Massey IV has gone on to be with his Heavenly Father. On August 28, 2007, he suddenly left our side to be next to him. He will be very missed by every life he touched, no words can express our broken hearts.
The family will receive visitors at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., in Waco from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.
The services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 31 at the Ocker Brethren Church in Zabcikville – where he worshiped in life.
Jeff was welcomed into life November 7, 1973 to proud parents, Jefferson Davis "Bud" Massey III and Rita Corleen. He was also greeted by his adoring sisters Tami Almond and Melody Herring of Robinson, Texas, and Cyndi Franz of Katy, Texas. We love you Baby Jeffy!
He was born in Tyler, Texas and attended schools in Wharton and Robinson. He graduated from Robinson High in 1992. He went on to receive his BBA from Baylor University.
Jeff was elated to meet and marry the love of his, Amanda Alphin. They were extremely blessed with a son Carter Ray "Poot" Massey. The apple of his daddy's eye!
He was employed by Farm Bureau of Texas where he had many friends and loved his job.
He also was an INCREDIBLE uncle to his nine nieces and nephews. Zach, Bethany, Jake, Aaron, Andrew, Jamicyn, Katy Ann, Abygale, and Maisey. He loved them all, made time for them and OH! they loved him back! He was also a great brother-in-law to Marc Almond, Jason Franz, and Michael Herring.
Jeff thoroughly enjoyed, life, his family, his John Deere, his dog Jenny Sue, and hanging out with all his many friends. He had so many friends because he was such a tremendous friend to all.
True to form for Jeff, as he gave in life he also gave in death through Organ Donation. Our prayers are with those families that received part of our Jeff.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers an education trust has been set up at 1st University Credit Union, Waco, Texas for his son Carter Ray "POOT" Massey.
