Jerelyn Faye Oxner, 56, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Funeral Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Jerry was born June 4, 1955 in Ft. Worth, and she was the only daughter of William Thomas Adams and Faye Lanell (Milford) Adams. Moving to Waco, Jerry graduated in 1973 from Richfield High School and continued to work at Goldstein's selling women's clothing. She met her husband, Greg Oxner, and the couple was married June 28, 1976 by her father. In 1992 a son was born, Colton Oxner.
Jerry loved being outdoors, caring for her yard, and particularly enjoyed gardening flowers. Jerry took pride in her home and loved to decorate inside and out. She enjoyed listening to country western and classic rock. Along with arts and crafts, Jerry enjoyed dove hunting, camping and fishing with her husband. She was especially fond of fishing trips where she could have friends and family over for a large fish fry. She was a member of Journey Christian Community and a member of the China Spring community for over 22 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by her father, William Thomas Adams.
Jerry leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Greg Oxner; son, Colton Oxner; mother, Lanell Adams; brothers, Dan Adams and Wesley Adams; sister-in-law, Sheryl Adams; niece, Shelby Adams; nephew, Westin Adams; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
The family would like to thank Blue Bonnet Hospice, Greenview Manor and Staff, the Waco Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, and Howard Gruetzner. To Mrs. B.G. Moore and Glen Moore, thank you for your continued friendship.
