Jesse (Jay) King Jr. 48, of Lorena was called home by his Savior on Friday, February 23, 2007 at an Austin hospital from injuries sustained in an accident on February 7, 2007.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with Mr. Bert Mercer officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at OakCrest. A memorial video honoring his life will be shared during the visitation.
Jay was born in San Antonio, Texas to Jesse and Dollie King, and he lived in Waco most of his life. He was employed with Gross/Yowell and spent most of his 32 working years in the lumber business.
Jay dearly loved his family, traveling, water skiing, bowling, fishing, riding horses and his greatest love, dirt bike Riding with his son and friends.
Jay served as an Executive Board member of the Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club and was a 30 plus year member and also served on the board for the Lorena Saddle Club and was a 30 plus year member.
He was a member of the Brookview Church of Christ. Jay loved life and never spent a minute wasting it. Jay will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe King and wife Willie, Percy Gable and wife Kathrine and father-in-law, Miguel Sanchez.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa; daughter, Brittany; son, Brent; parents, Jesse and Dollie King; sister, Jana Love and husband Steve; niece, Savana Love; mother-in-law, Gertrude Sanchez; brothers-in-law, John Sanchez and wife Ginny, Carlos Sanchez, and Greg Sanchez, and sister-in-law, Margie Moore and husband Tony. He had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Doug Davis, Scott Bagby, Randy Tremar, Brett Birkes, TJ Schmoeler, and Ross Stovall.
Honorary pallbearers include Don Miller, Jeff Gilbert, and the Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club.
