Jesse Stewart

Jesse James Stewart, 65, of Waco, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at his residence. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. John Catholic Church with Father Cyril Ejaidu officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Jesse was born May 23, 1945 in Laurel Hill, Louisiana to James Stewart, Sr and Daisy Mae Davis Stewart. He was a jewelry sales associate for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; two sisters; two brothers; and one half sister.

Jesse is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Gwendolyn Stewart; daughters, Cecelia Stewart of Waco and Marcia Stewart of El Paso; three grandchildren, Christina Stewart of Waco, Macaulay Wallace of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Briana Stewart of El Paso; 6 brothers; 6 sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Scott & White Hospice, Hillcrest Medical Center 4 North and all other medical staff that helped take care of Jesse during his illness.
