Jesse Zapata

Jesse Higinio Zapata, 33, of Waco, died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Waco.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Jesse was born May 9, 1975 in Monterrey, Mexico. He was an entrepreneur and ventured out to open a restaurant and shoe store without much experience or knowledge of either business. He proudly owned and operated La Fe Mexican Restaurant and First Impressions Shoe Store both in Waco. Jesse was a wonderful person and whenever he was around you, a laugh was guaranteed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Higinio Zapata; grandmother, Irene Gallegos; and grandfather, Roberto Gallegos.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 14 years, Becky Zapata; his children, Jasmine, Jesse, Jr. and Brianna; adopted son, Mikey; his mother, Irene Zapata; sisters, Yadira, Janice, and Ana Zapata; brother, Luis Zapata; his extended family, Isaias, Maria, Ramiro, Selene, and Denisse Salazar, Luis Josefina, Jose and Karla Zapata; and many nieces and nephews.
